What a great week!!!

Well this past week has been a great one!!! The big news first, all of the babies have been taken off of their apnea monitors (yahoo!!!) Which means no more wires at bed time and waking up to loud beeps. Another big step this week, Joel is no longer on oxygen :)at his dr's visit he did great and she decided he no longer needed it, which means all four babies are officially tube and wire free!!! It seems like they are getting bigger every day, I cant believe they will be a year old in only a month and a half. Tanner has gotten his first two (yes two) teeth. Both of his bottom front teeth came in within a day of each other, and he just loves showing everyone with his huge smile (see pic. below). We will be starting occupational therapy soon with the two little boys to help them build up strength. They are both doing great, Wyatt is now able to roll anywhere he wants to go and Joel has started pulling his legs up underneath himself so I think he will be crawling within the next month or so. Sophia is her usual cute self. She had a feeding evaluation this week at all children's hospital and will need a little speech therapy to help her learn how to eat solid food better. She does ok, but she sucks the food off the spoon as if it is a bottle. It is important for her to learn the correct way of eating now as to prevent any speech or feeding problems in the future.

As far as events this past week there have been a few. Kevin and I decided to take all of the kids out for dinner this week which turned out to be a total disaster! I have never felt so awkward my entire life. Kevin and I spent more time answering peoples questions than eating. Good news is that the kids were so well behaved the whole time. I got several comments about how good they were (every mother loves to hear that!) Kevin hates being stared at like we are some kind of freak show, but I know it isn't everyday people see that many babies together so we might just have to get used to it. Most people are very kind and just love looking at all of the kiddo's. We have had some funny comments and questions, here are a few
"how cute two sets of twins" --- I actually hear this allot I guess some people don't
understand what quadruplets means .
"You had a cesarean right" --- DUH!, sorry but I think this is a stupid question,
think about it people!
"Are they all yours" --- no actually I like to borrow my friends children and stroll
them around town, just for all the attention.
"were they born on the same day?"--- What! again think about it

The list goes on and on but my personal favorite is-- "are you going to have any more?" --- are you smoking crack! NO,NO,NO oh yeah and NO!!!!!!

Ok, sorry I got a little side tracked for a moment.
We had a wonderful holiday weekend. On Saturday Abby went up to my mom and dad's for a sleep over. Kevin, the babies and I went up to my parents house on Sunday for a cookout and some swimming. We had a great time and the babies and I ended up staying at my parents because Kevin had to work the next day. On Monday we headed out early to catch the memorial day parade downtown. We had a great time and were joined by my grandpa and our good friends from Scotland Ken and Carolyn. The babies did great and just loved watching all of the people. After the parade we went back to my parents for a cookout and some more swimming. Abby is turning into quite a little fish, it is hard to keep her out of the water, she just loves it! That evening we (my parents, Abby, the babies, Ken, Carolyn, and myself) all went to the Phillipe estate to enjoy a concert in the park. It was a great time. Abby had so much fun playing on the playground and the babies had a great time playing on the swings and a huge blanket we put down for them. Good music, food, drinks, family and friends = a perfect day! Well time to go pick Abby up from school, I hope you enjoy the pictures below. Don't forget to pause the music on the side bar before viewing the pics.

Oh, and I almost forgot. I wanted to again say a big thank you to my parents for all your help and support we couldn't do it without you. And mom, thanks for helping me make over 400oz of baby food this past weekend! Love ya!

May Days

I know it has been a few weeks since my last post, and what a crazy few weeks it has been. The kiddo's are all doing well, finally! We spent all of last week going back and forth to the hospital. That's right, poor little Joel was sick again. He had a major ear infection, which were causing very high fevers, which intern was causing him not to eat. He spent a long week on heavy iv antibiotics, but is now getting much better. He is getting so big,15.6 lbs now. Tanner is moving everywhere, he is very good at army crawling and has also learned to say Dada in the past week. We finally had to put up our big baby gate to help keep him in one place (aka-Tanner Jail) otherwise he is getting into everything (I know this is just the beginning:). At his Dr's visit this week he weighed 20.6 lbs HUGE! Sophia also has begun to say Dada this past week. She has somehow gotten herself off of our normal schedule and has started waking up at about 5:30am, not good because she is also waking up Abby at that time, so you can imagine how my afternoons are going with two grumpy girls. We are working on getting things back on track ( no more waking up before 7 would be nice:).She is now 15.4 lbs. Wyatt just started saying Dada this week. He is also going through a major growth spurt, so he is eating like a horse. I swear he has grown in just the last four days. He is starting to roll allot, and even though he is little he does just fine keeping up with the bigger kiddo's. He now weighs 14.6 lbs!

Earlier this month my Mom, Abby and I participated in the March for babies (march of dimes). With the help of our family and friends we were able to raise $270 for the march of dimes. We had a great time during the three mile walk and I am looking forward to doing it again next year. I would like to thank all of you who donated to our team, we greatly appreciate it, And A big Thank you to my mom for helping, and walking with me!

One of the best days this month of course was Mothers day! I had a wonderful day with the Kids and my family. We spent the day at home just relaxing, and enjoying a nice dinner. My parents and close friends came to spend the day with us. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful mother, I couldn't do it without her! Thanks MOM!

Well I will leave you with a few pics, then I am off to feed babies!

Sick AGAIN!!!!

ok, I know it has been a few weeks, so I will try my best to get you all up to date.

Abigail is loving school, she has a little boyfriend that she spends most of her day with. She only goes two days a week, but at this point it is perfect for her. She is also turning into a little fish, she is in the kiddie pool almost everyday and really loves going to grandma and pappa's house to go into the big pool. She is growing up so fast, it seems that she gets a little more indipendent everyday. Her biggest accomplishment this week is that she is now able to write her own name, and her handwriting is actually very neat. She is also soooo.. funny, I think she will deffinatley be the class clown, she is always making everyone around her laugh, including the babies, no one can make them laugh like her.

Tanner is now sitting up on his own. It is so cute to watch him sitting up like a big boy and playing with toys. He is teething like crazy, his poor gums are so swollen. I'm sure he will get his first tooth any day now. He is such a ham, always happy except when his tummy is empty. He is deffinatley the porker of the group, weighing in at a whopping 19lbs now. He just loves his food. I am making my own baby food, and so far they love it all. So far we have tried peas, carrots, spinach, green beans, pears, apples, squash, bannanas, and sweet potatos. Oh, I almost forgot the cutest thing that he is now doing. He army crawls, he can pull himself around the whole house with his arms, so cute!

Joel has found his VOICE! He is talking from sun up till sun down, and of course his first word was DaDa. I think it is just easier to say, so when he does decide to say mama he will actually mean it (sorry honey!). He is also turning into quite a lady's man, not kidding, he loves girls, he can totally work his good looks, batting those baby blues and giving them a big smile. It is so funny to watch. He is very close to sitting up as well , we have physical therapy every wed. I am hoping he will be off of his oxygen soon, or at least by his birthday. He is also loving real food, his favorite is bannanas.

Sophia, my little princess. I think she actually thinks she is a princess, she is slightly demanding, wanting what she wants when she wants it (I have no idea where she got that from he,he,he:)She would be very happy if she could be held all day. She doesn't cry alot but she does get a little cranky at times. She is also a little sensitive and gets her feelings hurt very easy. A total drama queen, everything she does is a big production be it talking, playing, or eating it is so fun to watch her. She is so beautiful (did I mention she looks just like me:) her dimples are fabulous! She is also sitting up and enjoys playing with Tanner. Sophia is having a bit of a hard time eating food so she will be having a swallow/eating test at all childrens hospital at the end of the month. I am sure every thing is fine she might just need a little feeding therapy to teach her how to eat correctley. I'll let you all know how that goes.

Wyatt, oh my sweet little pumpkin. I hate to report, but he is sick with pneumonia. We took him for an x-ray yesterday because he was coughing and when we got to the Dr's she told us he had pneumonia. He is actually doing very well, he is on antibiotics and is getting breathing treatments every four hours. Hopefully he will be better within a few days, I was happy that he was able to stay home and not have to go into the hospital again. He is the sweetest little boy, you almost never hear a peep out of him. I think out of all the babies I will miss his big toothless grin the most. He is always smiling and it lights up his whole face. He is really loving his baby food as well. He is finally starting to gain weight, at 9 1/2 mos he weighs 13.6lbs (tiny). I will keep you posted on how he is doing.

Kevin and I are doing well. Kevin will be starting a new job on the 13th, he is excited about that. He will be working as a paramedic again, which is what he is trained to do(and is very good at it). For those of you who don't know that is where Kevin and I met, in paramedic school. I started doing a little home health, but I am only working like 3 days a month, so it's not bad at all. On saturday my mom, Abby, and myself will be doing the three mile walk for babies (for the march of dimes) in honor of the babies. I am looking forward to it and will post pics soon. I hope you all are doing well. Got to run- hungry babies!
Sarah
